Lost That (Loew)ing Feeling
0June 30, 2012 by Sean Charles

The German media has been very critical of Joachim Loew since the defeat to Italy and rightfully so. German newspaper Bild hit the nail on the head by saying, “Mentality is often more important than quality.” The intensity and focus of the Italian display was something that blew Loew’s Germany out of the tournament. Italy showed exactly the characteristics he failed to instil in his own side.

EURO 2012 Semi-final: Germany 1-2 Italy
0June 29, 2012 by David Bolt
Italy pulled off an upset last night by beating what looked to be, on paper at least, a far superior Germany side 2-1 to claim a place in Sunday night’s EURO 2012 final against Spain.
What was even more surprising about Italy’s win was just how easy it was. Germany, who had looked an extremely strong side up to that point, all of a sudden looked uncertain and full of weaknesses, and once they had fallen behind, never looked like coming back into the game. Italy were simply far too good for the Germans.

Euro 2012: Germany – Italy Preview
0June 28, 2012 by Sean Charles

This game will kick-off tonight at 19:45 GMT.
Team News and Formation:

There was an element of surprise in Lowe’s selection choice for the quarter-final match against Greece by benching Podolski, Muller and Gomez. For this reason it is difficult to fully know what he will do tonight but I expect Podolski to come back in to the starting line-up as Schurlle did not impress against the Greeks. Reus on the other hand had a very strong performance so there is a chance he could retain his place ahead of Muller on the right. Klose still didn’t look fully match fit so it is likely Gomez will come back and regain his place in the team.

Why Winning Euro 2012 will be important to Italy
0June 28, 2012 by Jeremy Lim | Italian Football Editor
The Azzurri are defying the odds yet again at Euro 2012. The naysayers had a field day approaching the tournament in Poland and Ukraine after three straight losses and a match-fixing scandal back home threw off Cesare Prandelli’s preparations, but the team has roared back in reply to surge towards the semi-finals, often giving as good as they got.
