The Premier League returned this past weekend following the international break, and we were able to witness some thoroughly entertaining games as the world’s top division resumed. Still, even with all of that, we’ve got one more game left to enjoy tonight in the form of Arsenal vs Leicester City.
The Gunners are one win away from making it 10 straight victories in all competitions, whereas the inconsistent Foxes are more than happy to try and spoil the party. Both clubs find themselves in very different positions with Arsenal pushing for a spot in the Champions League, and Leicester attempting to secure their position in the top half of the table.
Arsenal will need to be smart about this one if they’re going to register all three points, mainly because Leicester can tend to be a tough side to break down – especially if they set up shop early on in the game. Arsenal need to bring the physicality that has been so severely lacking in their setup over the last few years, and patience is going to be key.
Lacazette is going to be viewed as the ‘main man’ so to speak in this one, with his recent goalscoring form serving as proof that he is the world class forward everyone once thought he was.
The contrast between these two clubs in terms of what they’re going to produce, and how they’re going to approach this game, will be interesting. Leicester can’t afford to take Arsenal lightly and assume that they’re still as poor as they have been in recent years, because that isn’t the case. Arsenal, on the other hand, can’t allow themselves to get too cocky because they still have issues at the back which need to be addressed in January.
Will Arsenal be able to overcome Leicester City?
