While it may be something we all have to deal with, the international break isn’t really something that everyone enjoys – but even though that’s the case, it’s still important to use the time productively, which is why we’re going to do a quick recap of the main ‘races’ if you will in the Premier League this season. Some are a bit more competitive than others, but either way, there are a lot of things to look forward to between now and the end of the campaign.
It’s silly to suggest anything other than three teams when it comes to the title race with Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea all being the main contenders. City seem to be leading the way whereas Chelsea are viewed as the underdogs, and the Reds are sort of situated in that weird ‘in between’ phase whereby many are just expecting them to finish as runners-up by default. In our mind, we still think that the Blues could shock the football world this year.
Battle for Europe
Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham will battle it out for the final Champions League spot – or at least, that’s what it seems like. Our money would be on United to claim 4th to be perfectly honest, because it just feels like Mourinho is always going to find a way.
Fulham may be stuck at the bottom of the table but with their new managerial appointment, it feels like they’re capable of pulling away from the pack as the season goes on. If we had to call it then we’d go with Huddersfield, Cardiff and Southampton experiencing the dreaded drop back down into the Championship, although it’ll probably go to the final day.
Who do you think will win the league, qualify for Europe and suffer the embarrassment of relegation this season?
