It is fair to say that gameweek 23 was a mixed one for our ones to watch. West Ham star Marko Arnautovic shined, as Jesse Lingard and Alvaro Morata bombed. Hopefully, our gameweek 23 ones to watch will yield better results. Here are the ones to watch for the latest FPL gameweek:
Riyad Mahrez (Leicester, £8.6m)
The mercurial Leicester forward has now produced a goal or an assist in eight of his last ten Premier League appearances.
The Algerian has found similar form to that displayed in the Foxes title season, producing seven goals and ten assists in the top-flight this season. His contributions have earned him 14 bonus points. A home game with goal-friendly Watford on Saturday looks to be a chance for the star to continue his decent run of form.
Theo Walcott (Everton, £7.1m)
The England international has spent much of the Premier League campaign on the sidelines, unable to get into the Arsenal team. However, a recent move to Everton could be a game-changer.
The Toffees have been short of goals of late. The addition of Walcott and Turkish striker Cenk Tosun should remedy the Merseysiders ills in front of goal.
Walcott has previously been an FPL favourite of ours in past seasons. A home game against West Brom this weekend offers Walcott the chance to make a dream start to life on Merseyside.
Xherdan Shaqiri (Stoke, £6m)
Stoke’s recent Premier League form has been woeful. However, the appointment of Paul Lambert as the Potters new boss could yield dividends for FPL players.
The Potters Swiss international Shaqiri has shown flashes of brilliance in the past. However, he has failed to produce any returns in the last eight game weeks.
Despite his recent slump, Shaqiri has produced four goals and five assists in a poor Stoke team. The visit of out-of-form Huddersfield to the Bet365 Stadium weekend promises a return to the points for the former Bayern Munich star.
Who will be gameweek 24’s one to watch?
