According to Sky Sports, Watford winger Richarlison is on Merseyside to have a medical ahead of a move to Everton in a deal that eventually be worth a whopping £50million to the Hornets.
Toffees moved quickly on Friday
The news of a potential deal broke on Friday night, and the deal came from absolutely nowhere. The Toffees had previously been linked with a move for Bordeaux’s talent Brazilian winger Malcom, but the youngster now looks set for a move to Italy club Roma.
It seems Richarlison is now a step closer to a reunion with his former Watford Boss Marco Silva on Merseyside.
Played well under Silva
The winger only arrived at Watford last summer from Fluminense for a fee of around £13million. He made a blistering start to his Hornets career, as he scored five goals in his first 12 Premier League appearances.
However, a dip in form and Silva’s exit as Watford boss saw the winger struggle for form. In fact, he has failed to be involved in a club goal since December. Tiredness could also be a factor for the 21-year-old, who has played continuously since January 2017.
Is a bright prospect
Despite his struggles in the second half of last season, Richarlison is regarded as a bright prospect for the future. The massive transfer fee, even by crazy modern standards reflects the raw potential of Richarlison.
In the early months of his Hornets career, Richarlison was mooted for a call-up to the Brazilian national side such was his good form for the Hornets. For a number of reasons his early season form stalled.
However, with the right coach, Richarlison has the potential to become player in the future. He has already expressed his admiration for boss Silva, so the move could turn out to be a match made in heaven for involved.
Will Richarlison justify his fee for Everton in the new season?
