Spurs and City lock horns on MNF

Monday Night Football is seen as a chore by some and as an exciting opportunity by others, but for the most part, the fans are happy that they get to sample even more of the beautiful game across the week. We’ve already seen some entertaining encounters this weekend but there’s still one more to be played under the bright lights: and that is Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City.

Both clubs know that this could mark a big turning point in their respective campaigns, with City attempting to keep the pace with Liverpool and Tottenham looking to lock down a place in the top four. They’ve met countless times throughout the years but you could argue that they’ve never been better than they both are right now, and that could make for one of the most intriguing – and entertaining – games that we’ll see all season long.

Tottenham will welcome Dele Alli back into their starting XI with open arms, as the Englishman attempts to get back to his best following a four game lay-off. City, on the other hand, are at full strength for the most part – and even if they weren’t, it’d still be a great first team that they’d put out because their strength in depth is ridiculous.

Logic would suggest that Spurs will struggle to deal with the endless waves of pressure that will come their way and we can completely understand the logic behind that, but this is a big opportunity for Spurs. People are sleeping on the fact that Pochettino’s men could actually go above City if they win, which should add a whole new element to this game that will make it can’t miss football at Wembley Stadium.

Regardless of their form, who do you think will come out on top on Monday Night Football?
