Friday could be a busy day for Premier League Everton. Turkish international striker Cenk Tosun is reportedly on Merseyside to have a medical ahead of completing a £27million move from Turkish side Besiktas.
The Turkish international has impressed for the Turkish champions in recent seasons. The 26-year-old helped Besiktas to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League by scoring four goals in his teams six group games in the competition.
The striker has an impressive scoring record in the Turkish top-flight, having scored 41 goals in 96 league appearances. Last season was his most prolific in for Besiktas, as the striker scored 24 times, as they retained the title.
The striker may feature for Everton in their FA Cup third round derby against Liverpool at Anfield this evening, if his paperwork is completed in time. If not then he is likely to make his debut against Tottenham next weekend.
One player who will not be featuring for the Toffees is attacking midfielder Ross Barkley. The 24-year-old has just returned to training after a hamstring injury.
However, he looks unlikely to feature for the Merseysiders again, as transfer talks are taking place between Everton and reigning English champions Chelsea over a £15million move.
Barkley has just six months left on his contract at Goodison Park. However, he turned down a £35million move to Stamford Bridge on the last day of the summer transfer window. He stated he wanted to return to fitness before making the decision.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed mixed fortunes in the blue of Everton. He is highly rated, but is also highly inconsistent. The Wavertree-born star faces a fight to get into the Chelsea first-team, as the Blues are already well stocked with players who play in the attacking midfield positions that Barkley usually operates in.
Will Ross Barkley be successful at Chelsea?
