According to the Times, Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha wants to make a move to the Eagles London rivals Tottenham this summer. Zaha is reported to have rejected the offer of a new deal at Selhurst Park, which has led to speculation he could move on.
If the forward would have signed the new deal, worth a reported £120,000 per-week he would have been the joint-highest earner at the club alongside Christian Benteke.
Tottenham showed a previous interest
Spurs have previously shown an interest in the 25-year-old, who previously endured a miserable stint at Manchester United before returning to the Eagles and reviving his career.
Tottenham have yet to strengthen their squad this summer and fans are becoming restless due to the lack of transfer activity at the north London club. Signing the talented Zaha would undoubtedly be something of a coup for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
An exchange deal possible
It is believed that Palace value Zaha at £70million, as he is their biggest asset and was the star performer last season. The fee is a massive one designed to put off potential suitors.
However, there is now talk that Spurs would be prepared to use French midfielder Moussa Sissoko as a makeweight in a potential deal. The midfielder cost £30million when he arrived from Newcastle. However, he has struggled to make an impact in north London.
Tottenham’s Premier League rivals Everton have also reportedly shown an interest in Zaha and could offer the Eagles winger Yannick Bolasie in exchange. He cost the Toffees a reported £30million when he joined from Palace in 2016.
Whether Palace are willing to discuss any deals for Zaha is unclear. However, it seems unlikely that the Eagles will want to lose their star player. If Zaha pushes for a move, though, he may just get his way.
